Here
I am before the pageant in the hallway of the North Haven
Holiday Inn. Interestingly enough, it is another pageant
taking place on Halloween day!
After my speech, I make my way across the stage.
Here I am posing for the judges.
The crowning moment happened October 31, 1999
in North Haven, Connecticut. Everyone laughed as the crown
was too big and slipped right down to my neck!
We are all smiles as we prepare for our first official
photo.
Our Director, Christina Couto,
is on the far right. (She's pregnant with her first child!)
Next to me is Mary Mudry, America's Yankee
Miss. She and I would soon embark on an overseas
tour for the Department of Defense and the U.S.O. combined
entertainment office. We traveled to Turkey, Italy and Greece
to entertain the troops and their families.

Liberty Misses.
Outgoing Americas Yankee Miss, Heather
Turner shares a smile and congratulates me after
the pageant.
Janet congratulates me as well.
She was the Talent Winner. We also find a common bond as
we discover that she was a former Miss
U.S.O.!
The
time has now come for me to give up my title. It has been
a wonderful year for me.
One last group photo in the afternoon of the outgoing Queens.
Christina
was gracious enough to let me perform before I gave up my
title.
One
last chance for the outgoing Queens to pose for a photo.
Congratulating
the new America's Teen Yankee Miss, Erica Durso.
Here
I am crowing the new America's Yankee Ms.
Saying
goodbye
All smiles for the Ms ladies!
A
chance for one last photo!
We
all pose for a family photo of new and outgoing Queens with
our Director, Christina Couto.
This is the first time my new group, Troupe
Q.T., makes an appearance. I am so excited to have
my sister queens travel to Rocky Hill VA Hospital (CT) to
perform for our Veterans.
Here is one of my guest queens, Maricsabel,
tap dancing for the delighted Veterans.
Preparing for the National Pre-Teen
Pageant nationals, another Couto queen, Molly O'Lena,
performs her talent of clogging...
...and her sister Meghan charms the audience as she sings,
"Someday, When I Am Miss America."
Jenny and Caitlin sing a duet
together.
